Rom 8:16 – The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. (Do I seek the guidance of the Spirit of God in my daily life?). Rom 8:14 – For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. The question arises: do I have the attributes of a child of God in my life? The child is grateful for everything he loves his father he is submissive, obedient etc. In a father-child relationship, there is firstly the father: he generated the child he has authority he leads he teaches he loves his child he guides, instructs, and even disciplines when needed. Then, He would tell stories about a prodigal son, a farmer that sows, a shepherd caring for his sheep, the guests at a wedding, etc. Some obvious examples are the various parables that Jesus used, often saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like…” Through the ages, God has always used metaphors of things we know from everyday life, things we are acquainted with and understand, in order to make us understand His intent. Right through our discussion, we must keep one cardinal truth in mind: God sees me as an individual, in my personal relationship with Himself, but also He sees us collectively, in our relationships to one another, as a unit, in our relationship with Himself. Do you love him? Would you give up everything in your life and die to the world and follow him? Found this awesome video called Father’s love letter. 2 Corinthians 5:21Ĭhristianity is a fiery love affair with Christ.
1 John 4:9-11įor our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. In this, the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. 1 Corinthians 13:4-13īut God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. And now these three remain, faith, hope, and love. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is God’s complete expression of love towards you.
